He is wearing all whiteIn the living room:A ping pong paddle sits on a chairOn the shelves, the stereo ?receiver' sits on the top shelf. A reel to reel sits next to itOn the second shelf there are records and the record playerOn the first shelf there are books and an AM/FM stereo receiverAll of the lights in the hatch are on and all of the shades are drawn with light seen through themA Salvador Dali type painting is hanging in the main roomThe hatch has a much lived in feel with clothes strewn here and thereA lava lamp rests to the left of the cabinet. It is on but not moving very much.As he looks through the records, he picks the 3 record from the rightThe song playing is ?Make Your Own kind of Music' by Momma CassOn the dinner table there is a bowl, a plate with food on it and a glass that is half fullA book is sitting on the seat face down in the open position. Possible magazine sits on the tableThe washer and dryer are grey in color and have a forward ?bubble' front to them.An exercise bike is next to the wall. It is red and chromeA black and silver blender is on his kitchen tableThe trash can next to the counter is also black and silver and opens from both the right and left sides.As he rides the bike, a weight set is seen in the foregroundThe speed on the speedometer reads just above 16kphThe speedometer is the same as a Corvette from the 60'sHe does 3 pull ups, 5 sit ups, takes a shower, and does some laundry.He eats what appears to be a powdery substance added with 2 cherries and a mango/peach slice. He adds liquid to fill about 1/3 of the blender. He moves the dial to 42 and then moves it again slightly to 46. I think 42 may not have been one of the safe numbers. 46 is definitely the last number on the dial just before he opens the weapons roomIn the gun room there are 2 larger caliber hand guns in stow4 rifles are on the wall, one with a scope, one WWII style. This looks like the one he takes with him. He also grabs a smaller caliber handgunHe moves to the stereo ?receiver' and uses it to turn down all the lightsDesmond moves to the telescope ?gun' and points it towards the ping pong table and readjusts the mirrors on the walls leading down towards the hatch opening. Locke admits to her how Jack must think he is crazy. He reminds Kate how he was recently dragged through the jungle by a ?column of black smoke' and asks ?I wonder what Jack thinks he saw'Hurley and Jack are walking ahead and talk as wellJack confronts Hurley about the number he said were bad. Hurley begins to tell Jack his Numbers story, abridged version. What he leaves out is how Lenny heard them repeating from the South Pacific in his early Army daysHurley mentions the chicken shack he used to work at was hit by a meteoriteAfter Hurley bares his truth to Jack, all Jack can say is ?you were in a psych ward?'Hurley wants Jack to believe he thinks the numbers and the hatch are cursed. Jack sees this as lying and hence, false hope. This is Jack's ?bedside manner'. He tells them the sun will come up soon and they will all be there to see it.After Jack's ?stay here tonight' speech, Locke shows up with cable to climb down the hatch. This act openly defies Jack's leadership roleLocke tells Jack that staying there waiting for the others or the Raftaways to come is fine, but not for him.?Me? I'm tired of waiting'- LockeAs Locke leaves Jack gives him a ?I don't believe it' lookLater on, Kate asks Jack is he really believed the speech he just gave and whether he believes they are all really going to be alright. He answers ?yes'Kate tells Jack she is going to the hatch to keep a safety watch on Locke?Live together, die alone, right?'- KateFlashback:Jack tells Kevin the operation could take 10-12 hoursKevin tells Jack Sarah was on her way to a dress fitting (and) to look at table cloths.Jack asks how far away the wedding is, Kevin answers ?8 months'As Jack starts to tell Kevin about all of the care Sarah will need, Kevin gets concerned in an obvious shallow manner. She says instead of dancing she can just roll around at her wedding. Is this a new Jack developing?At the hatch:Locke hears Kate approaching. She says how she thought he would be halfway down by now?I was waiting for you'- Locke. He smiles and turns towards KateLocke tells Kate she is lighter and the shaft may get narrower towards the bottom.Locke has the line around 2 other trees as he lowers Kate down the hatchThe trees bend and break dropping Kate further down the hatch almost losing her. After the stop Kate start to suggest something and Locke just keeps lowering her downAs Kate looks down towards the bottom of the hatch a light is on and something appears to be visible in the mirror at the bottomKate start to do the ?Jack countdown'. Once she gets to 4 the light goes out and soon turns back on and a generator sound is heard. A bright light shines up from the hatch and no sound is heard from Kate. The line starts getting pulled away from Locke and he eventually loses Kate. The light shuts off and the sound of a door is heard. Kate doesn't answer Locke calling herLocke calls for Kate 3 timesBack at the caves:Jack loads a gun to go to the hatchHurley asks Jack about his ?stay together' speech.?I changed my mind'- JackAt the hatch:As Jack approaches he sees the line is tied off and no one is around. He throws his torch down the hatch and the puddles at the bottom extinguish is.Jack rips a shirt into 2 strips for his hands so he can repel down the line faster.Flashback:Jack is running a La Tournee Du Stande. He sees another guy doing the same thingJack tried to keep up with him but instead twists his ankle?You all right brother?'- DesmondDesmond tells Jack he almost became a doctor onceHe is now training for a ?race around the world'Desmond and Jack talk and Desmond seems to know the problem is with a girl. Jack tells him Sarah's situation and how he had promised to fix her and he didn't. He failedDesmond asks him ?what if he did fix her'. The numbers sequence added together is 108Above the sun picture are blue waves with a face of a woman above it. The woman has feathers in her hairThere are a bunch of IIII + / (prison time marks) across the bottom left. They indicate someone was counting somethingAn eye is visible in the lower right hand side with the number 42 above it. The eye looks like the one on the one dollar bill. A symbol of a fish is also above itA large blue arrow points away from the right corner and in between a picture of a small house next to the pre-mentioned number 42. Also at the bottom of the painting is the word ?SICK' above another picture of a house located at the bottom of the paintingJack puts the light on the paint set used.As Jack continues to walk there is a mine shaft type doorJack leans into take a closer look. The key around his neck starts to get magnetically pulled towards itInside the hole in the door is something black and rectangular in shape. It appears to have been exposed from the bedrockA mirror turns itself to focus on JackThe music starts again and the bright light comes on. This forces Jack to step back and he then finds himself in a geo-shaped control room with triangular shapes serving as the ceilingAs Jack explores the control room a mechanical noise sounding a lot like the adding machine heard earlier is constantly going on in the backgroundTwo reel to reel machines are seen on the left. A table is in the middle of the roomTwo of the triangular shaped ?windows' are completely back. Are these vents?There is a large lit up panel to the left of the reel to reel machines. Above this there appears to be 6 triangle windows that are a distinctive blue color. The rest of the ?windows' are a dingy brown.As Jack walks towards the reel to reel, the one on the left is spinningKate can be heard yelling for help twiceJack doesn't hear her. He sees the 1970/80's style computer with its curser flashing. He walks to wards it and is about to press a button when the music stops and Locke intervenes?I wouldn't do that'- LockeLocke has a small caliber handgun pointed at his neck on his right sideFlashback:Jack sits in Sarah's room waiting for her to wake upThe clock reads 2:30Jack tells her he was running which is why he stinks.Sarah asks where Kevin isWhen asked why Jack ran the La Tournee Du Stande he answers ?I'm intense'Sarah asks him is he was able to finish.
