I know a lot of people are saying this episode was obvious and dull. I thought it was great.Yes, Boone's death was predictable. But only in hind sight. Up until the end I thought he would make it. It was kind of refreshing having the obvious happen. And now we have had the birth and the death, all in one shot, we can move on and discuss other things. It will be nice to not see so many ?I know who dies' posts. Maybe not reading any spoilers made me like this episode more than a lot of other people. With that being said, there really wasn't much in this one. This episode was more based on the actual action than double meanings. Unlike Deus which was packed with all kinds of info, this one had only few interesting things happen. One theme I noticed early on was the yin/yang theme. There was a lot of the right/ left side going on here but I will only mention the ones I think are interesting. So here it goes.... Boone's left lung is the one to collapse- Jack pierces it with right hand. Probably just right handed. Boones left leg is in real bad shape too. "I am going to save you" is what Jack tells Boone. Is this a thinly veiled way of telling Boone Locke wasn't the way, but rather Jack is the one to save people? Just a thought Right before they cut to a new scene, Jack lets out a big exhale. I wonder if he did his ?count to five' thing he told Kate about This is probably nothing but when the camera pans from left to right in the tux shop, there are two tux's on each side of the mirror in the middle. On the left side are two white tux's, on the left there is one white and one black I will state the obvious, wedding and Boones company. Is this the Jack and Boone connection? When Jack and best man turn to look in mirror, Jack is wearing a shirt that has the yin/yank symbol on it located right in the middle. This is what made me thing about a possible right side/left side connection As the camera pans from left to right on the beach while Claire is walking, there is definitely something out in the water. A lot clearer this time. Can't really see it in this picture but this is as good a screen cap as I could find.http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=364&pos=84Once again Steve/Scott is in the back round At Jacks rehearsal dinner there is a waterfall in the back round. Maybe this is a reference to the waterfall he will eventually find. Jack wears his watch on his left hand for those following the watch observations I have going Kate falls at the right time to hear Claire whimpering. Is this the island working or is Kate clumsy? Claire is holding her stomach with her right hand during the contractions Not to beat a dead horse but Kate presses Claire 3 times to go back to the cave. Claire rejects her 3 times until she finally confesses she can't move. How in the heck did Jin hear Kate? With the roar of the ocean it must have been really tough. Was he the only one that heard it? Was he meant to hear it? I really don't know. Just thought it was interesting Sun acts as the nurse. Locke had an Asian nurse, maybe Korean? Just an observation One of the funnier parts of this episode was when Sayid was trying to fins where his romantic dinner was located. He seems to have a bit of trouble finding it. To the point where Shannon asks him if he is lost. Could this have to do with the compass Locke stole? I believe so. Charlie ask 4 people what kind of blood they have. In the piano scene, after his fiancé tells him the women were checking him out, Jack never even glances in that direction out of curiosity until that odd woman steps out of the car. Fiance has 44 on right side, front of shirt. Big 44 in the middle on her back as she walks away The transfusion is from Boones left, Jacks left. When Jin comes back to the camp, it appears he is uncomfortable being forced to communicate with Sun. But the greater good forces him to talk to her. Even if it is in an indirect manner Contractions are every 2 minutes apart. Supposed to wait until they are 60 seconds apart. When the contractions stop Claire is holding her stomach with her left hand. Then the water breaks. Baby is definitely coming Interesting how she mentions her abduction. Interesting her paranoia on if ?they' did anything to the baby or not. Seems she was in captivity of some kind and not in the woods all week long. Her escape would be plausible if she was in the jungle. But if she was actually in a facility of some kind, how did she get out? Danielle maybe. Vincent is looking less and less likely. Looks like Boone didn't keep Lockes big secret. Cat is out of the bag. Only Jack is told and doesn't seem to tell anyone else, yet. Shannon in a vain attempt to make herself look better, tells Sayid Boone is in love with her. She doesn't tell the big one about her coming on to her step brother and doing him. Now Boone is dead, she is the only one that knows. Is it me or is Jin a very calming figure? The way he raised his hand towards Kate when she looked at him gave a sense ?relax, everything will be ok' I am starting to warm more and more up to him. "this baby is all of ours" Kate implying everyone will take care of the baby in one form or another. Trying to relax Claire When Jack is sitting by the pool waiting for his dad, there are 4 hanging lights over his shoulder in the bar Jack desperately wants his dads approval. Asks him if what he is doing is right. This episode showcased a little more the personal relationship between Jack and his dad. also why Jacks truth telling incident and eventual death of pops is really weighing on Jacks mind. He was a daddies boy. "don't tell me what I can't do"- is this a veiled reference to Locke. They are the de facto leaders. Does this similarity is personality indicate a split in the camp? How far is Jack willing to go to save someone's life? He does have a hard time letting go as it shows with the extreme measures he was about to do with Boone. This is probably nothing and I wasn't even going to write it down last night but it kept showing itself so I figured what the heck. The white flower/symbol on Suns shirt:http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=364&pos=197Can anyone figure out if this means anything? There were a lot of flowers around the alter when Jack got married. It was nice of Boone to help let Jack off the hook. If Boone had lost so much blood before, how much would he have lost having his leg severed? Jack really does have a hard time letting go. Good thing Boone did it for him. Claire hold the baby on her right side. It's a boy. I find it ironic how Boone ?saw' Shannon die but he was the one to actually die. And he even jokingly mentions Shannon's death with Locke. How will Locke react to Boones death? Boone dies as Claire is giving birth. I don't think this implies reincarnation, just edited to show the life/death, yin/yang symbolism. Could Boones death been Jacks first to die? It is mentioned earlier how Jack never fails. Could this be his first time? In the final scene where Jack has to break the news to Shannon, he doesn't use the cheesy arm on the shoulder routine his father does. That's it. Not a whole lot but some things here and there. Enjoy.
