I am thinking now on the whispers/whisperers. I'm hoping that we (as a group) can work on this together, because it is not complete, only a psuedo-theory still. I have noticed that the whispers have gone from a vague sense that one person gets while alone, to a louder and clearer event that an entire group can hear at once. It has been asked "how can the whispers know personal things like what Frank said to Sawyer before he died?" the simple answer before I get into my thoughts would be that just like when you get a reading of any kind from a psychic of any kind...there will be vague predictions and there will be a few very personal events revealed. The reading will take on a new spin for each person. Now some of this will be loosly based on the whole "De Groots" theory that is going 'round right now, so here it goes: The island was a site picked so those of the science, psuedo-science, and studies of the paranormal could commune and study in a utopia of sorts. It was started, in part, by a couple named De Groot. Screencap comparisons have been made that show a striking resemblance between the "captain" and female on the boat that took Walt, and the De Groots that are shown in the orientation film. This could suggest that after "the incedent" that was mentioned in the film, the original folks from the commune were still on the island. What I'm thinking is that these folks made several splits and divisions in a "lord of the flies" sort of way, among the people that were left. out of the "others" that we have seen/heard...there seems to be at least 3 groups so far: -The "fisherman" group lead by the original De Groots, that were on the boat that took Walt. They seem to be more well dressed, well spoken, and are in use of mechanical and chemical items on the island. (the boat, the gas bomb, the gas for the boat, the guns, and they were fully dressed) -The barefoot others that have tormented the "tailies". They seem to be more animalistic, hunters, brutal force, travel in a pack, dirty, silent, deadly, very little clothing, primative weapons only. (of course we will see more of them later, this is only based on what we have seen so far) -The whisperers. We have not seen this group, only heard them. At first, the whispers were only heard or sensed by one person at a time, and only when alone or in danger. But in our last encounter with them, we had both a large group and a couple in another place that all heard them at the same time, and just before an avoidable death happened. I still can not record, so I can not make out what they said (a little help from the group would be nice there) and I am just going off of feelings here. But I think that the whisperers may not be "bad" and their interest in our survivors has moved from curiousity to protection. If this group were in fact the group from the Dharma project that were in the field of the paranormal....then they could be able to predict the near future, project images, use "remote viewing", and use telepathy to convey messages...and all of this without ever giving away their location. Now keeping all of this in mind, if next week's episode plays out like I think it will, we should be looking for clues to all of the above. I really think that we will finally see some of the missing keys that we have talked about in the past. It is no secret that next week will be from the other side of the story.....but I think that we will see some things that will blow our minds, and I really want to see if my thoughts on these others pan out and show up in surprising ways next week.http://www.livejournal.com/community/pondering_lost/89127.html#cutid1check link for original post and comments
