Something has bugged me for while about Libby.......she was able to tell Hurley about him running about trying to get on the plane, and being all sweaty. She even mentioned him stepping on her foot (which I would think would trigger a reaction from him had he not stepped on somebody's foot when boarding)
Why did this bother me? Because Libby should have been sitting in the back of the plane when this happened, and Hurly entered from in front of his seat and walked back to the mid section. This means that Libby would have been out of her section in order to see all of this take place...or at least watching through the curtains.
Fast-forward to last night.
Pretty much everyone had figured out that Hurley recognized Libby from the hospital. What we didn't know for sure is if she was a doctor or a patient.
At the very end, we see Libby as a patient.
Now this does not mean that she wasn't a psychologist at some point and went nuts herself...but I'm inclined to think it means that Libby was just a patient and picked up a lot of tips while there...and is a crafty liar.
Now, to the part that really struck me....at the very end, we see Libby in some sort of daze, watching Hurly, then we see her face change to happy, like a thought or idea had come to her at that moment while watching Hurley.
So this is my new pondering for the week:
What if Libby had become fixated on Hurley while they were in the hospital together?
What if she had been stalking him? She could have followed him to AUS and back again. This would explain what Libby was doing out of her section while Hurley was boarding. She did not see Hurley during the boarding calls, and was watching for him. She got nervous when the doors were being closed and maybe even was going to try to get off the plane.
Once she knew her fixation was on the plane, she quietly went back to her seat.
This could also explain how easily Libby latched on to Hurley when the tailies came to camp...you know, once she was sure that Hurley didn't remember who she was.http://community.livejournal.com/pondering_lost/101894.html#cutid1
