I was having a hard time coming up with a post for "The Long Con"....I think this was because it could be summed up as : Sawyer has loved in the past, but she was only supposed to be a mark, and he was forced to finish his job in the end. This would add to the brooding and hurt soul that secretly wants to be loved by everyone, but just can't allow it to happen because he may get hurt. This thought was followed up on this week by showing Sawyer killing the frog. He is activly seeking opportunities to make the rest of the group dislike him. But now that Sawyer has all of the guns, and is in effect, making decisions....maybe it is best that he tries to be even more removed from what is going on. We all saw it, Jack and Locke are both very bright men, but they are not good leaders. They are too envolved, and each are to passionate in their own ideals/beliefs/agendas to lead effectively. This led to much arguing, second guessing, and deception. They even took the time to show this when they squared off over the gun safe and the army. Sawyer may not be classically educated, but he is smart, and he knows people. I think that there are others in the group that see this, and realize that Sawyer keeping the guns right now may not be such a bad idea. *giggles* imagine the meeting with both Jack and Locke coming to Sawyer to argue their points as to why they need the guns again. OK, so onto this week's episode: We met Henry. He has no eyebrows. Not sure yet if that means anything, but I wanted to state it.....the man had no eyebrows. Henry's story: He sold his company , that mined non-metalic minerals, and got a lot of money for it. (add comment about being the life of the party here) With this money he decides to hot-air balloon across the Pacific, because it was a dream of his. He had his wife with him because she thought it would be "neat". This was about 4 months ago, maybe more. 3 weeks ago, Jennifer (his wife) gets sick with a fever and dies. He buries her in a field and takes off walking, leaving the beach cave that they have been sticking to in hopes of being seen in a "fly over" Henry was very calm and rehersed when talking about the balloon, not so rehersed when talking of his company, and weak when it came to talking about the death and burial of his wife. Just to add a side note...when useing body language to read a suspect, it is thought that (when recalling a story) looking to the right is remembering, looking to the left is lying. Henry looked to the left the whole time. Back to the balloon. Did we ever determine how Desmond got to the island? Was it only an assumption that his race was a boat? He did say that Kelvin came and got him when he crashed.....could Desmond have been in the balloon? Would that be why Kelvin saw him? Now, to tie in my thoughts on others and groups of others........in my opinion, Henry looked/dressed/and acted much more like a "Goodwin" than an "Ethan and Nathan" or a "Zeke" just wanted to throw that in.http://community.livejournal.com/pondering_lost/99910.html
