So Ana's warnings to remember Nathan and remember Goodwin take on a whole new meaning. So this is what I got out of this episode: The tailies figured it out rather quickly that there was a plant of sorts among them that was giving information to the ones that were attacking them.
They figured out rather quickly that Nathan didn't "fit" with the group.
Ana on the other hand was a little slower to catch on to Goodwin.
Eko is deeply religious.
The barefooters that attacked seemed to be rather young.
Of note, they had no shoes, and no tags on their clothes
they also killed no one, only took them....we have seen the children walk past Jin and Eko in the jungle, with the teddy in tow.
Goodwin was not on the plane as well, but was far different than Nathan, Ethan, and the barefooters.
The barefooters had a list of who they planned to take.
Goodwin proclaimed that
-the barefooters were not attacking
-everyone they took was better off, and alive
-they were trying to take the strongest, until two of them were killed
-Nathan was not on the list, because Nathan was not a "good person"
Ana proclaimed that the only reason they even knew Goodwin was because Bernard saw him, so his cover was blown and he pretended to be one of them.
Goodwin claimed that Nathan had to be killed because Ana was planning to torture him the next day, and if Ana still didn't get any info from him, she would start looking elsewhere for the "spy". of note...and I will need someone that can record to check this for me....when Ana found the knife on the female barefooter, I thought I heard Goodwin say "There's my knife." But later he seemed to not know anything about the knife. Comparisons of our middies and tailies:
For our middies, everything centered around making sure that the group as a whole retained hope, and ignorant bliss about things that the main characters knew.
For our tailies, there was a much smaller group and they all knew the same things and worked as a unit to figure out what they meant.
For the m's, they had a doctor and the fuselage to pick through for meds and supplies
For the t's, they had nothing, they crawled out of the water with the clothes on their backs.
For the m's there was hope that new information and a rescue would happen
For the t's, there was suspicion, doubt, fear, and fight for life from day one.
(personal opinion) I think that it is reasonable to assume that there will also be some differences in the two groups for no other reason than the fact that they were divided by middle class and coach on the plane, suggesting that one group would have been more "book smart" and had more money, while the other group would have been more "common sense" and lived on instinct. This would also hold true for those that were with our fisrt group that were in the middle class seats on someone else's money and why we have such a difference among them.http://www.livejournal.com/community/pondering_lost/91757.html#cutid1
