Well, we knew Cooper wouldn't last, but it was interesting to watch all of the parts play out. First of all, Cooper only thought he was dead and in Hell, because he did not remember getting to the island, and had the same knowledge about the fake plane being found. This begs to question..how long has he been there, if indeed the navigational beacon was knocked out. Ben knew that Locke would not be able to kill Cooper...so why did he insist on humilliating him and refusing to take him in until he did? Simple. Locke had to prove that he could get it done without doing it himself. I think that letting Locke know about the plan to raid the camp and take the women was another test, a test of Locke's truely breaking former ties. Why did Ben think that Locke needed to say goodbye to Kate? Why did Cooper call Ben "buckeye"? A "buckeye" is someone from Ohio...does he know something we don't? Did I hear that wrong? Locke does thank Sawyer for killing Cooper, then tells him about Juliet and gives him the recording we saw Juliet make for Ben. When Ben tells Locke about the raid, he says that nobody will get hurt, and that they have done this before. We know that they have done this to our group a few times, but Ben insinuated that there had been more times (like maybe the Dharma group?) When Sawyer asks why Locke is telling him about the raid, he says that he wanted to warn them. OK, so Locke is so desperate to be loved and accepted that he was willing to hinder any chance of them getting off the island, and willing to kill his father, yet he's still worried about the group he left behind and wants to protect them. Is this just another quest for knowledge? Locke does say that he is now on his own journey, maybe he will continue to play both sides. Now onto Naomi. Naomi revealed the whole story of everyone off the island being told about 815 being found with all the bodies on board. That's a lot of power to be able to fake a whole plane full of dead people without anyone noticing. She also tells us about her mission to rescue Desmond. The guys in the cold place gave the coordinates to Penny that they got from the EMP when the hatch blew. These coordinates lead to no known land, only the ocean, but they looked anyway. On her way back, Naomi saw a break in the clouds and spotted land. Helicopter controls go crazy and chopper dies, and here she is. But she does have the phone, and Sayid may be able to make it work (more on this later) . So even though nobody is looking for our group, there are at least two people that are being looked for, and the search for them has been narrowed. Now onto the rest of the story. Sayid has been let in on the secret of Naomi, because they trust him, and because he has skills to not only help Naomi, but to fix the phone. Unfortunatly, Kate stumbles onto them and gets the whole story. Well Kate of course runs off to tell Jack, and the fact that NOBODY trusts Jack, because of Juliet. As the story is being told, all Jack wants to know is how they plan to get word out.....when told about the phone, Juliet insists on "telling her" while Jack insists that "it's not time yet". What is it that Juliet thinks Kate should know? What secret is Jack and Juliet keeping? And exactly when will be the right time to tell everyone this secret? *arg*http://community.livejournal.com/pondering_lost/112285.html#cutid1
