OK, I understand that many folks were disappointed in this episode, but I fail to see why.Yes, this was another one of those "character development" episodes that everyones seems to dislike...but if you pick it apart, you have much to gain from it.I have a feeling that next week will be a culmination of what we learned both this week and last week about our characters. So here it goes:Kate/Jack/Sawyer/Ana-Ana wanted to know about Jack and Kate....I think this was a way of seeing where she stood and her chances with Jack.Jack did seem more than a little interested in what Kate was doing, but I do feel that he has no real feelings for her...she is beyond him fully trusting her anymore, at least for now.Sawyer seemed to take glee in trying to stir up some jealousy in Kate over Jack and Ana....again, I think this was more of a testing where he stood with her.Kate seemed more than curious as to what Jack and Ana were doing, but I think that she feels she is not "worthy" of him...at least for now.Hurley/Libby-Hurley knows Libby. She knew just enough to tell him the foot story with him all sweaty...yet what was she doing in that part of the plane, when she was in the tail section at upon crashing?I see soom possiblities....Libby is an aspiring actress and he's seen her on TV or such...or Libby really is a psychologist and he knows her from the hospital....or Libby was a patient in the ward when Hurley was there and she's a very good liar...I could go on, but I feel that him already thinking that he knows her will lead to a scene with him pondering it and realizing from where soon enough.Charlie/Claire/AaronWell, I do belive that Charlie did not mean to harm Aaron, I also belive he was not using. I also belive in part what Locke said, that Charlie was trying to save the baby because he could not save himself. I was glad to see Claire pushing for some space, and pointing out that they are not a couple...they were strangers that happened to be on the same plane and that he was far too envolved. I wonder if some of Charlie's dreams and fears stemmed from him hearing of the encounter with Capt Gordon and some "repressed" memory of what happened when he was kidnapped.Charlie/Eko-This would be why I belive that Charlie's intentions with Aaron were pure...he went to the priest to try to see what he could do for Aaron.....well sort of, the part he asks about Aaron was true...but he did ask about the statue first.Charlie/Locke/Claire-OK, everyone seems to be very down on Locke right now......partly, I'm sure, because it was Charlie that received his wrath....had it been anyone else , nobody would have minded much. But I for one do not like Charlie, so it didn't bother me in the least. And for those that have not kept up, go back and read my very long post predicting a strong relationship between Locke and Claire....Locke's reactions to Charlie made perfect sense to me. He has to get Charlie out of the way before he can have Claire.....and it seems that he feels strongly enough about it to use any means at his disposal, including his fists.Charlie-Still lying. His FB told me more about his brother than himself..especially since they mixed and intwined them with dreams. But we did get a little more filled in on some past in his story...not sure what to focus on though, so I reserve the right to drag anything back out later on when it applies.Eko-So he likes to mark trees he likes and pour sand on his stick....I'm sure he has some sort of spiritual reasons for all of this, and it may be a big thing later, or may never become an issue. But for a man that is lying about being a priest, I would be more careful of practices that would smack of another religion/faithHow long do you suppose it will take for someone to start questioning him on the priest thing? The man knows his Bible, no question about that.Locke-The only other thoughts I can add to the above are...why keep the statues?I thought it may have been to give Charlie the option later to choose...but that is not in keeping with everything else he said to Charlie. My thinking then turned to, maybe for evidence to use against him later on....I mean Charlie did endanger the whole camp by setting a fire...and that was without the drugs...with them,, who knows what he would be capable of.But in reality, it's impossible to know why Locke saved the statues...again, I'm sure this will become evident soon enough. Something that really bothered me though, was not the saving of the statues..but rather WHERE he put them. In the gun closet, where they could be found by anyone that enters it. Then he changed the combination so that he is the only one that can access it. Now, if this nugget is found out before danger and the "need" for guns...there will be a fight. If this is discovered during danger and the guns are needed...this will lead to a Hell of a fight. If this is discovered during danger and guns are needed and Locke is not around, this will lead to disaster that will lay on Locke's shoulders.I guess that's it for now....can't wait for next week!!!!!http://community.livejournal.com/pondering_lost/98952.html
