Was seen in Station 3 - the hatch - Swan station.
There have been other logos in other places, the tailenders bunker, the shark's tail, and allegedly in such places as the side of the Oceanic Flight 815 aircraft, and of course the Orientation film (since it was a Dharma Initiative film).
Each DHARMA initiativestation on the island has a distinct 8-sided logo. These logos are spray painted on walls and printed on various items in the stations; they are also featured in the orientation films.
The differences between the logos lie in the rounded central part, which contains a unique symbol for each station. With the exception of the Staff logo which has red in its central part, the logos all appear in black and white, and each contain the text "DHARMA".
Four of these symbols are also drawn on the blast door map.
The outline of logos seen on walls appear to have gaps in the outline; this is probably due to spray paint templates.
It was first theorised that the orientation films indicate six DHARMA stations (The Swan Orientation: 3 of 6; The Pearl Orientation: 5 of 6). However the logos on the blast door map seem to indicate more than six stations, each with their own corresponding symbols. Therefore, it is probable that 3 or 5 of 6 refers to the respective number in a series of six orientation movies.
Another point of speculation is whether the DHARMA initiative has an overlaying logo, representing all the stations. So far it is unlikely such a logo has been discovered, although it may be the horizontal line logo found on The Shark.
This logo appears in numerous places and on many of the items inside The Swan. It is also shown in the Swan Orientation Film and the swan symbol appears on the blast door map.
The image in the center of the logo is a swan.
The text "DHARMA" appears through the center of the logo.
The swan symbol reminds of the Yin and Yang symbols.
The logo appears on the various food items that were stored in the Swan hatch but also on the food items that were dropped in the Lockdown episode.
This logo appears in The Staff medical station and its equipment and supplies. The caduceus symbol is also drawn on the blast door map.
The image in the center of the logo is a red caduceus, which is a medical symbol.
The text "DHARMA" appears through the center of the logo.
This is the only logo in color, rather than black and white. Even when printed on paper or labels, the other logos are in black and white. The Caduceus is always in color.
Appears in The Pearl station, which is the question mark in the middle of the blast door map.
The image in the center of the logo is a white filled circle.
This logo is the only logo in which the word 'DHARMA' does not appear in the center picture, but rather it takes the place of one of the lines surrounding the center symbol.
Appears on a door of a station dubbed, "The Door" (because of its symbol that resembles a door) in Michael's flashback in the episode Three Minutes. The actual name of the station and corresponding logo has not yet been discovered in the series. The station is probably either the "C3" or "C4" referenced on the blast door map. In "Live Together, Die Alone" (the season two finale), Sayid finds a door marked with this symbol -- which we saw earlier in Michael's "Three Minutes" flashback -- is part of a facade encampment. The door only has a rock wall behind it.
The image in the center of the logo is a white rectangle resembling a door.
The text "DHARMA" appears through the center of the logo.
Whilst the existence of The Flame station is not fully confirmed, it is likely that it will have its own logo. The existence of the Flame station was derived from the blast door map, which has a drawing of a station accompanied by a flame symbol and the inscription "THE FLAME".
It is not yet exactly clear what this logo will look like.
Appears on the tail of the shark that is near the raft and circles Sawyer in Adrift. Although initially rumoured to been put on the shark by the graphical department without sanction from the production team, it has been confirmed that the appearance of the logo on The Shark was intentional.
On DJ Dan's website, which is linked in hidden comment tags on thehansofoundation.org, clicking on "ConspiraSpy of the Month" ([1]) would seem to validate that the shark's DHARMA tag was in fact legitimate, since it talks about being found in the Great Barrier Reef (South Pacific) and even specifically highlighting the interesting tag on the shark's tailend. However the logo on the shark carcass appears to be The Swan's logo.
The Logo
The image in the center of the logo appears to be a straight horizontal line.
It is interesting that this logo does not have DHARMA through the center of it. Unless the horizontal line is the DHARMA lettering, appearing as a white line. If so, then this symbol might possibly be The Staff logo, similar to the version on Ethan's canteen.
It is possible this is a standard DHARMA logo that can correspond to any one of the stations.
Logo Interpretation
Feng Shui Logo
The 8 symbols around the center are symbols from the Ancient Chinese "book of change". It is also known as "I Ching" or in Feng-Shui as "Ba Gua" or "Pa Kua".
Each symbol consists of 3 Lines (8 possibilities) that can be either
a straight line (for male; light; numbers 1,3,5,...) or
a line with a break (for female; darkness; numbers 2,4,6,...),
The five DHARMA logos seen so far have the trigrams of the "I Ching" around the outside, with "north" at the bottom, "south" at the top, and the other trigrams likewise inverted from their traditional positions. The trigrams can be applied to the points of a compass. All known DHARMA logos have identical trigrams corresponding to compass points.
Tri-grams that surround the centre of the symbol are identical to those found on what is believed to be the earliest recorded flag of South-Korea, as seen here: Old Flag of South-Korea.
The extended version of the book combines 2 of the original symbols, so there are 64 combinations.
