The show's intent was always to show the SURVIVAL of a group on an island where death is always imminent. Was it always the intent to kill people? Yep. Was there supposed to be MORE deaths in the first season, but minds were changed? Yep. Will there be more deaths in the second season? Yep. Blame the island. It helps. As for "new characters", Danielle has only been around since the 9th show, but you grew to like her! And she is about to bring you more, um, stuff to make the show very interesting! So see! New people, new stuff! By the way, only a handful of the characters that you know and loved appeared in every epi. Some you haven't seen but a few times, really. Change is always good. If you're feeling loss, the show is being done right. You're on the island, and NOTHING is safe.
