Welcome all newcomers to the LOST General Message Board! If you post something, you need to know that your first post can't be editied....
I will bump this only when a new person comes along...
I am not the most knowledgeable or witty person on the message board... it took me a long time to figure this out and I thought it worth sharing...
Wondering about some fact? There are many wonderful websites for references: There are many websites devoted to LOST fans and these are only a few....lostpedia.com has excellent information as well as
darkufo has a website that has all kinds of stuff (and spoilers) but you can find screen caps:
http://losteastereggs.blogspot.com/
another excellent fan website that has transcripts:
http://www.lost-tv.com/
or this one

this one is also helpful:

When someone posts a link (like I did in the post above) - you can click on it - look at it and return back here... you don't need to copy/paste the link into your browser, nor open a second internet browser to keep the message board open....
About the Reply Quote..... Batty's Box in a Box lesson: ... first click reply quoted at the bottom of the post...then wait a sec... then when the screen appears hit the enter button a few times to drop it down below their words... then start typing your reply way over on the left side of the screen. To reply to a reply already in a box -just reply to the part of the quote you feel is important. You can delete the stuff you don't want to appear.... then hit enter then start typing TO THE LEFT of the previous quote. This helps the posts stay shorter and the boxes don't go into those long rectangles. Also ..that way your reply does not appear inside their box... Note: critical keys to success - hit enter to drop down below the previous quote, delete stuff that doesn't need to be repeated, and move to the left of the previous quote...
Recently the ABC message board has been loading very slowly.... if your screen sits blank after you click on something... it's not you or your computer! Try either hitting your back button or the refresh button.... or... double clicking on the words General Board (after the ABC>>> Community >>> General Board) usually works.... but sometimes you have to log off and log back in....
Lots of times when you are clicking on a post or replying to a post you will get various error messages from ABC... the worst is the OOPS page... again... nothing wrong with your computer... we have many threads on the message board about the frustrations of the OOPS! It's not your computer!
Jimmy Kimmel is a huge LOST fan... These are YouTube videos from Kimmel... enjoy!

People come to these boards for many, many reasons. For most it's probably to exchange information about LOST. But for others... it's a place to spend time chatting with strangers with something in common - and it helps stave off loneliness. Some people may be seriously ill - either physically or mentally - and are not sharing that information. Some people may be very lonely. Never share personal information. Most of our LOST "regulars" are nice people with supportive relationships.... but sometimes people on a message board are not always respectful of one another. When that happens it is best to ignore it and not take it personally.
Not all discussions are LOST related. Sometimes you will see OT which means Off Topic. Now that LOST is not in current shows, many of the discussions on the General Board (GB) are off topic. You may have to scroll back several pages to find a topic that you would like to discuss. That's when you might encounter the screen hanging up and the reload problems mentioned earlier.
This piece of advice I never knew until this morning and comes from another post: You can also search the board (using the "search" button...at the top of the page) and look up some of the Rewatchers threads. They post topics related to LOST by people who started re-watching with Season one and are working their way through the episodes during the hiatus. The poster said "It may answer some questions, it may raise others, or it may just show you that we don't really have much of a clue as to what's going on!" Wonderful words!
