The ABC boards allow some very basic formatting in your posts. You can use italics, bolding and underlining. And there is also a method of quoting which takes selected text, indents it, and fades it to a gray color. If you wish to italicize text in your post, simply select the text, then click on the <i> below the text box. If you wish to make bold text in your post, simply select the text, then click on the <b> below the text box. If you wish to underline text in your post, simply select the text, then click on the <u> below the text box. You can use any combination of these three things at once. Like this! The other thing commonly used in posts is quoting. When you reply to a post, you can choose to include a quote of what your are replying to. To do this, look below your text box, and check the box to include quote with reply. You can edit the text in the quote as you see fit. If you wish to quote multiple parts separately, copy the bits you want to quote and paste them into Notepad to keep them handy. Click on reply, then paste your mateial into the reply. On either side of the section you want quoted, you use [blockquote] and [/blockquote]. This tells the browser what to indent. You then enter your own text response, then go to the next section to quote and blockquote it and so on.
